DIY Rag Wreath
Decorating for Fall!!!
If you are like me, then you love decorating for the seasons and holidays. Fall is my favorite time of year. Living in Florida, we don't exactly get to experience a literal fall (yep, it's still in the 80's these days and the leaves on my trees are still green), but I love decorating my home to reflect this cool, crisp season. It may not look or feel like fall outside, but my house sure does :)
DIY Rag Wreath
I wanted to add some new décor to my fall decorations this year. So, I made this simple and inexpensive rag wreath. Here's a quick tutorial on how you can replicate this and make your own.
Materials:
- 18inch Wire Wreath Form
- Assortment of Fabric and Burlap
- Burlap Ribbon
- Pinking Shears or Scissors
- Ruler

Assembling Your Rag Wreath
Once you've gathered you've gathered your supplies it's time to begin. Take your fabric and cut it into 1in. x 10in. strips. Then tie the strips to the wreath form. I simply secured them by mimicking the first step of tying your shoes. I didn't worry with double tying. Remember this is a fast and easy project :)
Depending on how full you want your wreath will determine the total amount of strips you use. For this fall wreath I used approximately 165 strips of assorted fabric. I would cut several strips and tie them on different sections of the wreath form; then cute more strips and tie, and continue this process until I reached my desired fullness.
Finishing the Wreath
To complete this wreath I took burlap ribbons and made a giant bow and attached it to the wreath form using a smaller piece of ribbon. You can finish off your ribbon anyway you like. A monogram or other fall décor would help to tie the wreath together and complete it!!!

Customize Your Wreath
The best part about this type of wreath is you can customize it and make it your own. It can be made to fit any holiday or theme just by simply selecting coordinating fabrics. I recently completed a wreath for some avid University of Florida fans!!!
